Lesson to be Learned
1.9 MB AU  113k Real Audio

Some things are worth waiting for
I'm believing it more and more
Love for us all, love for one another
Lesson to be learned by watching our
Bridges burn
Some things are worth waiting for,
I'm believing love for one another
Lesson to be learned by watching.

Over the rivers, over the rails
Somewhere you will find strength
Along the lonesome trails
If all of the memories you keep
Of loved ones left behind
Remain forever in your mind

There's no reason to fear the open door,
Some things are worth waiting for
One thing we've learned from watching our
Bridges burn...
There's no way to return

What on Earth are we fighting for?
Have we forgotten what love is for?
Coming together for the human race.
Leaving no one without a place.
Love for us all...love.

Some things are worth waiting for,
I'm believing it more and more
Love for us all, love for one another
Lesson to be learned by watching our
Bridges burn
Some things are worth waiting for,
I'm believing love for one another
Lesson to be learned.

Self Made World
1.9 MB AU  115k Real Audio

We are all part of the same soul.
No longer immune in our self made world.

The ways of old can't be undone.
The future holds the promise for everyone.

In silence our voices will remain
Only we have ourselves to blame
What we are is we will remain

The ways of old can't be undone.
No longer immune in our self made world

No One Really Knows
1.9 MB AU  115k Real Audio

No need to run, to hide, to fear, to fly
No need to lie, to cheat
No need to deny, to change, to try
No need to fight, to die

No need to run, to hide
No need to fear, to fly
No need to cheat, to lie
No need to change
No need to try
No need to fight
No need to die

Over the oceans into the sky reaching
Beyond the stars
So endlessly we can follow our dreams
And finally see

Some say it's never too late
Others say we've sealed our fate...
No one really knows

Some believe there's nothing more
Some wait their lives for...
No one really knows

Walking With the Rain
1.5 MB AU  91k Real Audio

Watching the rain fall to my door
Facing the sky waiting for more
Watching the night turn into day
Chasing the clouds that run away...

Waiting for hours by the phone
Watching the people leaving home
Waiting beside the open door
Racing the clock, searching for more...

Feeling the sadness in your soul
Letting emotions take their toll
Watching the rain fall door to door
Watching the rain, waiting for more...

Cause I know there's more in store

One Day
1.9 MB AU  118k Real Audio

One day
One day we all may see
One day we all may be free

When we all join together we will find
A better way

No one counting the cost... (life taken away)
No one can ever justify the loss

One day we all may see
One day we all may be free

When we all join together we will find
A better way

One day...one day.

Call
1.9 MB AU  115k Real Audio

Deceiving fortune teller, misleading life guide
Seller...
Providing all you need to know.

One call read your life
One call you'll decide

Wondering what tomorrow will bring?
Wondering will there be joy or sorrow?
I can tell you which road to follow, just as
Long as you call tomorrow.

One call we will guide
One call you decide

One call read your life
One call we will guide
One call you decide
One call free your life
One call realize
One call
One call
One call
One call

The Big Peace
1.9 MB AU  115k Real Audio

Welcome to the good life.

The future is call. A new age is dawning.
As we reach for tomorrow
The road that we follow will be open.
Forever we will move together for the cause.
The tables are turning our home fires burning,
Our children are yearning living and
Learning... nothing.

Wake up to the real world.
All of us joining together we can make a
Difference for the future.

The future is calling. A new age is dawning.
As we reach for tomorrow
The road that we follow will be open.
Forever we will move together for the cause.
The tables are turning our home fires burning,
Our children are yearning living and learning,
Living and leaning... nothing.

The world is growing...
Our world is growing smaller day by day
The vision of tomorrow...
Our vision of tomorrow we don't
See the same way
And in the end we've just ourselves...
But in the end we've just ourselves to blame
If what we are remains...
If what we are is what we will remain
Perfecting the violent strain

Costly prices are paid,
Countless sacrifices are made
Consolation means nothing once
You've felt the bolt of lightning strike.

How can it be we're in dire need of
Love for all of our survival
We better get to know, getting to know one
Another we could make it.
By learning to forgive and giving all you have,
Taking time to remember...
"Ya know life's not so bad". If you're willing to
Surrender to the madness around you
No need to go down in flames.

Tears rolling down the window pane,
There's no use in holding back the rain
Cause it keeps falling down,
And you're wondering what you can do?

The tables are turning

Wake up...
Our home fires burning
Wake up to the good life.
All of us joining together we can
Make a difference for the future

The future is calling. A new age is dawning.
As we reach for tomorrow
The road that we follow will be open.
Forever we will move together for the cause.
The tables are turning our home fires burning,
Our children are yearning
Living and learning... nothing.

Welcome to the real world.
All of us joining together we can
Make a difference for the future

The future is calling. A new age is dawning.
As we reach for tomorrow
The road that we follow will be open.
Forever we will move together for the cause.
The tables are turning our home fires burning,
Our children are yearning living and learning,
Living and learning... nothing.

The world is growing...
Our world is growing smaller day by day
The vision of tomorrow...
Our vision of tomorrow we don't see
The same way
And in the end we've just ourselves...
But in the end we've just ourselves to blame
If what we are remains...
If what we are is what we will remain

Consolation means nothing once
You've felt the bolt on lightning strike.

Now that we see we're inspired to be
Free to love, above no other
We've got the right to show,
(Welcome to the real world)
We've got to get together,
(Welcome to the good life)

Learning to forgive and giving all you have
To be willing to surrender to get on
The right track
You've got to take time to remember
"Ya know life's not so bad".

For you...

No blood running down your window pane
But somebody's crying out in vain
For you...
And they keep calling, haunting you
And you're wondering what you can do?

Standing at the open door afraid
To look and see
For whatever's waiting there, waiting patiently
And any road we might have chosen
Somehow eventually
Worked its way right back to where
We started off to be

Then we chose to make the change,
Started to believe
And from that moment on we wondered
How simple life could be
With all of us joined together
In spite of who we are
We shine brighter than any distant star

Standing at the edge of time
It's beautiful to see
We're part of a bigger picture,
Part of life's mystery
Standing hand in hand, undivided
We are free
We're part of "The Big Peace"...

Finally.

After you've bought it and had a a chance to listen to it, what you think. All reviews will be posted here.

Here's what others had to say:

"I found "The Big Peace" at a used store the other day. Never even heard of it before. My only experience with him is that I saw him with Yes last year and heard his playing on "Open Your Eyes". That little" Yes Member" sticker on the Jewel case helped alot. Figured I'd try it out.

Wow. What a knock out! From the very first spin, I kept thinkin' "WHO IS THIS GUY!?!" Sherwood is a lifelong student of Yes's music, you can really hear it. This album sounds like the best parts of "Open Your Eyes" only denser and heavier. The tracks "Lesson to be Learned" and "No One Really Knows" is very reminiscent of mid-late 70's Yes in the way that the song is phrased yet sounds like "Talk" in it's production values.

There's ten and fifteen minute long suites of complex killer progressive rock and there's 4 -5 minute possible radio singles (Call or Walking in the Rain). Sherwood's a sextuple threat here- singing, guitars, basses, keyboards, writing and production. The only thing he didn't do is play drums. Good thing too, because Jay Schellan's drumming is spectacular. He has a very Bruford like, snare-heavy sound.

In the inevitable comparisons to Trevor Rabin, Sherwood's writing is more complex, arty and dramatic whereas Rabin's is more rock/hook oriented. Their guitar playing/sounds are quite similar. Sherwood is a better fit for Yes however, because he's seems to be stamped from the Yes mold instead of being "forced into" it.

Obviously, this album has made a huge impression on me since I bought it 6 days ago (I'm at this website, ain't I?). I like it more than alot of Yes albums in fact because of it's punch, production values and overall dramatic feel. I guess I'm a prog rock fan 1st, and a Yes fan 2nd. He takes alot of musical chances and goes places that Yes would fear to tread. I guess I'll be lookin' for the "World Trade" albums this weekend!

If you love Yes and progressive rock in general, This one's a must! 4 Stars.

Thanks for all the present and future hours of listening pleasure Billy!"

"This isn't a review just a quick note from a fan who is very impressed!!! I am amazed at what a talented musician I've found in Billy Sherwood!!! I can hear a Yes influence in his music--but certainly--he has his own style. I have been a Yes fan for almost 20 years. The lyrics and messages of Yes music move me and touch my life. Billy offers the same in his lyrics. I also really love the music. It's amazing to me that one person can play and arrange multiple instruments as well as Billy has done!!! His production skills are also very impressive. I hope that I hear more from Billy--he has great talent!!! I think he is an exceptional addition to Yes!!!" -

"Well I got my copy on the day it came out.First thing to say: I loved the stickers that were on the wrapping of the cd case. A round black sticker just read YES member & the sticker on the topside of cd case read File under Yes Billy Sherwood "The Big Peace" I guess that was for those people who work in records who don't know much about Yes or any of the music they sell in those mall stores."

"Well I put it in my car's 5cd changer and listened to it all the way home. First thing came to my mind was this sounds like Open Your Eyes by Yes. The only difference was there was no Jon Anderson."

This album is really good stuff. The only downfall about it was the picture of Billy. Couldn't they have pick a better picture than that? He didn't look very happy in that picture." -

This is not really a review. Just some comments.

My favorite band in the world is World Trade. Like a lot of people, I've been waiting for World Trade's long-awaited third album (recorded a while ago) for some time. Even though the album cover says Billy Sherwood, "The Big Peace" is the third World Trade album and it's wonderful.

Seems like there is more of a Gentle Giant atmosphere to this one. Still, the Yes/Genesis influences are there. Sherwood's ability as a multi-instrumentalist is extradordinary. The melodies and vocal harmonies (as usual) are mesmerizing.

Good job Billy. I hope to read some interviews soon with you talking about the making of the record. By the way, Jay Schellen can still pound the skins like a skilled technician. -

Way to go, Billy!

"The Big Peace" is definitly getting the most play in my CD player this week. It easily ranks up there with the other members of Yes' solo efforts.

I would describe it as a combination of Pink Floyd, (for its moodiness and synthesizer tones) and Yes' Talk CD . Billy has some great guitar riffs on this CD, and he does most of the instrumentation himself. He also has a fantastic singing voice !!! Hopefully we'll get to hear more of Billy's guitar work on the new Yes cd. -
